Pantry
Groceries for Near West Side Residents
We distribute bags of food two times a month from our pantry to families, individuals, and seniors residing on the Near West Side. The food is not intended to be our clients’ sole source of nutrition, but only a supplement; each household member receives about one week’s worth of food. Residents who cannot attend one of the regularly scheduled food pantry days can also pick up food 24/7 on a walk-in basis. In addition to food, we distribute personal hygiene items and household supplies.

Food and Hygiene Kits for the Homeless
Cathedral Shelter provides food and hygiene kits to the homeless. Since the homeless may not have a can opener or be able to keep extra food, we distribute homeless bags with enough food for one meal, and all items can be opened without a can opener. Hygiene kits for the homeless include toiletries, washcloths, and face towels. Food and hygiene kits for the homeless are available 24/7 on a walk-in basis.
