Cathedral Shelter Welcomes New Executive Director

Cathedral Shelter of Chicago announces the appointment of Reverend John (Jack) D. Seymour as Executive Director. Reverend Seymour joined the vocational diaconate through ordination in 1994, having served in both the Diocese of Springfield and the Diocese of Chicago. He is presently assigned to the congregation of St. Paul and the Redeemer in Chicago, IL (Hyde Park) and he also serves the Diocese of Chicago as Director of the Deacons’ School for Ministry and Formation.
Seymour’s secular professional distinctions include Director of the Illinois Department of Financial Institutions, Illinois Commissioner of Savings and Residential Finance, Executive Director of the Attainable Housing Alliance and Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the First Bank of the Americas.
According to Lynne Taylor, outgoing President of the Cathedral Shelter Board of Directors, “Jack has the qualities that are essential for guiding Cathedral Shelter to realization of its full potential for serving others. We are pleased to have him as our new executive director.”
